Cary has been pet sitting for my 3 dogs for over a year. He is reliable, leaves a report card on how things went during the day, checks my mail, feeds the birds, and keeps an eye on the house. He comes 2x per day and the dogs love him. I have one who won’t tolerate strangers (very abused before I got her) and she’ll let him come and feed her! I am 100% confident that he’ll be there as promised and it eases my mind when I’m out of town – one less thing to worry about. I’d recommend Cary to anyone as a pet sitter.

Cary comes about 14 times a month and walks my dog. He also feeds and waters my dog when I'm out of town. I have used him for several years and he has never missed a walk. He is very conscientious about the animal’s welfare. I pay by the month.

Cary Lindley of Homeward Bound Pets is truly the best pet sitter in the entire Clear Lake area. We have used him for many years. We presently have one dog, and Cary will come to a customer's home once, twice or three times per day, depending on their needs. For us, he comes twice a day when we are out of town. He spends at least 20 to 30 minutes at our house while he is there. Honestly, our dog gets more one-on-one attention from Cary than we sometimes give her! :-) He plays with our dog and makes sure she is eating properly while we are gone. In addition to being a great dog and pet sitter, he also completes a thorough checklist of activities while he is there: turning lights off and on, picking up mail or packages, etc. He is extremely thoughtful and conscientious. I have sometimes received phone calls from Cary while we were out of town about issues he thought I would want to know about (i.e., "The heat lamp in the tortoise's cage isn't coming on; how can I fix this?"). Knowing that Cary is taking such good care of all of our animals as well as our house, gives us great peace of mind anytime we leave town.

We trust Cary implicitly. In fact, we have security cameras at our house, so I KNOW when he comes and goes, and I can replay his visits whenever we return. It's really a hoot to watch our dog interact with him. She absolutely loves Cary. We wouldn't trust our pets to anyone else.

Cary has been caring for my pets, Annabelle, Caesar and Brutus for several years. He has always been prompt, courteous, congenial and a wonderful care giver to the animals. Cary responds to an e-mail quickly and never misses a visit with the animals. He inspects my house and even found a broken window I wasn’t aware of! I have used Homeward Bound pet sitting and Cary Lindley for 3 1/2 years. I would not consider kenneling my dogs ever again. I have two 10yr old labs who love him -- I think he gives them more attention than I do! Whenever I travel, I do not have to be concerned about my pets - I can relax -- because I know Cary is taking care of them. I prefer using a pet sitter for two reasons: (1) the animals are so much more comfortable in their own home; (2) the sitter visits add a layer of protection from other incidents that could occur in my absence, such as burglary or water leaks, just by his observations. Cary is so attentive and easy to work with --- I think he gives a level of service above that of other pet sitters. I would never use anyone else.

Homeward Bound is the greatest for caring for my Basenji, Simba. I have used Cary for 6 years to care for Simba while away. Before Cary, I took Simba to the veterinarian’s for a weekend and he was so stressed he made himself sick. I said no to taking him away from home again! I found Cary on the internet and read about his services and how caring he was so I decided to give him a try. It was the best choice I ever made. Simba eats well, his coat is shiny and he is happy, not stressed when I get home. He also has a clean, filled water and food dish when I come home. Cary takes the time to play with him and he also checks around the house for me! I think it is great that Cary keeps a daily log for each visit. It is an added bonus to let you know how caring he is!

My wife Sandi and I have two Schnauzers, Katy and Kaiser. They are going on fourteen now. For years, we took them to local boarding places around Clear Lake when we would have to be out of town. We would have to take them and pick them up on the Kennel’s schedule, not ours. Also, a few times we would forget to make reservations in time and would be shut out completely and have to rearrange our schedules. Three or four years ago I saw Cary’s Subaru while fueling up at the Valero. It had his Homeward Bound sign on the door. I waited until he came out and asked him about the service. He gave me his card and we set up a time for him to come to my home to basically interview each other. I was struck by his professionalism. It was not what I expected from a service of this type but I was very impressed and it was very comforting when having someone come into your home. We have used him ever since. In addition to looking after our dogs, he brings in the paper and mail and generally looks after the house. If something doesn’t look right he will and has called to make sure we are aware. If one of the dogs has an accident, he cleans it up and we do not have to deal with it when we return. While I wouldn’t recommend it, we have even called him while on the road and he responded. In short, it has been a completely satisfactory relationship both for Katy and Kaiser and Sandi and I. We have no plans to do anything different as long as we have pets.

Cary Lindley began taking care of my pets over three years ago, when I was on chemotherapy. He walked my LARGE (not always obedient) German Shepherd three times a day during that period, which helped my entire household function more normally. Since then, he continues to fill in once a day for my dog. He also took care of my daughter’s rats, and still takes care of our cats whenever we travel.

We have been using Homeward Bound petting sitting for several years and absolutely love it. Cary takes excellent care of our 17 year old cat and lovebird. We have been using Homeward Bound Pet and House Sitting services for about 5 or 6 years whenever we go on vacation and it has been a wonderful relationship. Cary is great to work with and very accommodating for whatever we ask of him. We have four cats and it would be rather difficult to put them in a kennel for 2 weeks at a time. Cary comes over once a day and takes care of them as well as checking the house and picking up the mail. He even feeds the birds outside. Once, we were gone when the weather turned bad and a hard freeze was on its way. Cary contacted us to let us know and then was willing to wrap our pipes. He went over and beyond the call of duty!! We are signed up for the Homeward Bound's Ready Key Program and it's so easy to set the reservation. We wouldn't think of using any other service!!

A friend told me about her wonderful pet-sitter and gave me Cary's name. My very nervous rescue lab-mix looked emaciated the few times we had to leave her at a kennel, I'm sure she refused to eat and no one ever told me. My two 50 plus pound dogs are not the kind you can just have a neighborhood child watch. Their barking at the front windows has scared off many a deliveryman! I knew as soon as Cary walked in and didn't flinch at the sound that this was the start of a beautiful relationship. We are part of the Ready Key Program, so it is so easy to make arrangements for my dogs when we have to travel. Every time we return from a trip I am thankful that we found Cary. The dogs are so happy and the house just feels more secure as they have been home to protect it. The day after we get home, I find them waiting by the door for Cary to arrive. It used to be a big hassle to find a kennel, now it is easier, cheaper and much less stressful on all of us.
